Chu Lai Economic Zone Houses 72 Projects

The Chu Lai Open Economic Zone has attracted 72 projects so far with the total registered capital of more than US$1.708 billion, according to the management board.
Of the projects, 18 are funded by foreign investors with total value of nearly US$200 million, are being launched.
Large-scale projects at the Chu Lai EZ include Chu Lai-Truong Hai automobile assembly factory (worth US$400 million), Chu Lai Floating Glass Factory (US$150 million), Chu Lai Soda Production Joint stock Company (US$120 million) and Cat Vang Chu Lai Resort (US$50 million).
The economic zone’s industrial production in 2011 reached VND 1,851 billion, accounting for 14.74% of the province’s total industrial value. The export value stood at US$59 million.
Last year, these projects created some 1,200 jobs, raising the total number of laborers in the economic zone to 11,000.
