Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai recently signed a decision to approve the overall plan for construction of Hon La Economic Zone, Quang Binh province through 2030. The economic zone will have a total area of some 10,000 ha.

Accordingly, Hon La is a general economic zone designed for various industries and fields, including industry, seaport, trade, service, tourism, urban, agriculture, forestry and fisheries. Besides, this is an economic centre of Quang Binh province, with modern and synchronous urban infrastructure, which serves a driving force for investment attraction and development of other regions.

 

Hon La Economic Zone has three main trunk roads, namely National Road 1A, western road and coastal road. The northern part will be given priority for development, with Hon La deepwater seaport is the nucleus. Industrial zones have favourable traffic access.

 

Hon La Economic Zone will have a population of about 58,000 residents by 2020 and 76,000 residents by 2030.
