Central Quang Ngai province is calling foreign investors for seven key projects totaling US$1.2 billion, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The projects are included in the national list of 163 projects recently announced by the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
The province’s Dung Quat Economic Zone (EZ) will be home to five projects capitalized at US$370 million, comprising of a US$170 million steel plant with an annual capacity 100,000 tons of products, a US$100 million Poly Styren plant (100,000 tons), a US$45 million Liner Alkyl factory (30,000 tons), a US$40 million Carbon Black plant (50,000 tons) and a US$15 million container port (12 million tons).
The remaining projects comprise of a US$755 million express way linking central Danang city and Quang Ngai and a 15-kilometer highway project valued at US$29 million from La Ha town in Tu Nghia district to Duc Pho town.
The Dung Quat EZ had licensed 119 projects with a total registered capital of US$5.4 billion as of late September this year, said the zone’s management board.
A delegation of 72 Taiwanese enterprises has recently arrived in Quang Ngai to look for investment opportunities in the areas of industrial production, mechanical engineering, tourism and services sectors. (Vietnam & World Economy)
