Under Decision No. 284/TTg-CN dated 22 March, the Prime Minister has given the nod to Mekong Delta’s Ben Tre province to establish Giao Long Industrial Zone which will cover 96.3 hectares of land. Permission was given to start granting licenses to both domestic and foreign investors for operation in the zone.
The chairman of the provincial People’s Committee has been assigned to direct the implementation of the project and has also been asked to actively acquire guidance and suggestions from relevant ministries and bodies, carefully study the feasibility of various investment sources and the completion of the project, closely conduct assessment on project performance, and promptly make a decision on setting up Giao Long IZ in accordance with existing regulations.
