Application of high technology in agricultural production is an inevitable trend of the world, especially in the era of technology 4.0. With this direction, it is expected that Ninh Thuan's agricultural sector will make strong strides.
At the XIV Provincial Party Committee's Congress, Mr. Dang Kim Cuong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ninh Thuan province, emphasized the role of high-tech agricultural development.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh also highly appreciated the potential and advantages of Ninh Thuan province to develop agricultural production. Therefore, local leaders have proactively identified the strengths and weaknesses of the province in order perform important tasks such as building irrigation works, installing economical watering systems; and to restructure unsuitable crops to more economic efficiency crops, in line with the general development orientation of the province.
Based on the potential advantages of the locality, Ninh Thuan has proposed effective policies to attract investment. Currently, there are many businesses looking to invest in the area, connecting with farmers in production. And also after 10 years (2010 - 2020) implementing the new rural construction program, it has contributed to changing the face of rural areas as well as raising awareness of Ninh Thuan people.
The agricultural economy has had positive changes in the direction of restructuring production, exploiting the potential and advantages of the locality. Living conditions both physically and mentally of the majority of the rural population have been improved markedly. The average income per capita in rural areas reached nearly 26 million VND / person / year, an increase of 2.16 times compared to 2011; the rate of poor households according to the new multidimensional poverty line decreased to 11.48%.
Recently, the agricultural sector of Ninh Thuan province is also facing "double difficulties". In addition to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the province was also affected by climate change, causing some localities to reduce their cultivated area, and key agricultural products such as grapes and apples have difficulty in output. Understanding the above difficulties, Ninh Thuan proactively found effective solutions to support people and businesses in high-tech application. Accordingly, the main concern is that Ninh Thuan will pay more attention to science and technology transfer from production to preservation and processing. The province also gradually implements the program of one product one commune (OCOP), building agricultural products brand (grapes, apples, garlic, asparagus and Bau Truc pottery); developing specialty agricultural products based on high-tech application and clean agriculture in association with tourism development to increase added value, expand agricultural markets.
Agricultural development with high-tech application is a long process, requiring profound transformation of awareness from many sides (cultivation, farming level, investment capital, and production infrastructure). In addition to the participation of the whole political system, it is also necessary to mobilize the participation of all economic sectors to maximize the advantages in the three fields of cultivation, husbandry and aquatic breeds.
