In order to strengthen trade relations with Liuzhou City - China, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( VCCI) recently coordinated with Liuzhou City’s Trade Committee to hold an introduction ceremony of the Automobile, Machines and Components Expo ASEAN - China (Liuzhou) in 2011 and a meeting between two parties’ enterprises.
According to Mr Tran Thien Cuong, Head of International Relation Department – VCCI, joining Automobile, Machines and Components Expo ASEAN – China (Liuzhou) 2011 to be held on December 8th – 10th 2011 will be a good opportunity for Vietnam enterprises to study and gain business cooperation in China’s automobile and automachine market.
According to representative of the Expo’s organizational board, enterprises joining the expo will be given many preferential policies such as being charged no fee for kiosks of those belonging to ASEAN block (charge of domestic kiosk (China) is CNY 6,000 – 8,000 per standard one); ASEAN goods coming to the expo, after entering China’s port, will be under the responsibility of organizing board for custom fee and internal transportation from the port (China) to Exhibition Centre in Liuzhou City.
In addition, enterprises will be given favourable conditions to have their businessmen allowed to immigrate; attendees in the expo will be picked up at Guilin or Nanning Airport and driven to exhibition centre in Liuzhou City.
According to Mr Ngo Van Tru, Director General of Heavy Industry Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, for recent years, the business relation between Vietnam and China has witnessed strong development. In 2009, despite impacts from global economic recession and financial crisis, import and export turnover of the whole year still reached US$21.35 billion, increasing by 5.76 percent, in which Vietnam exported US$4.91 billion, increasing by 8.23 percent, and imported US $ 16.44 billion, increasing by 5.04 percent, for a deficit of US$11.53 billion, exceeding by 3.74 percent (reducing much against 2008’s deficit growth rate of 21.5 percent).
Introducing Liuzhou, the City’s representative said it is one of the key industrial cities in Guangxi province and one of five leading cities in China in terms of automatic products. At present, the city has planned automobiles, mechanized machines and units, components, and metallurgy to become the spearhead industries. By 2010, total industrial product value of the city was CNY 256.2 billion (equal to US$40 billion), accounting for one quarter of Guangxi province’s industrial value.
Liuzhou is also one of the 12 strongest localities exporting automobiles, machines and components in China. Four automobile manufacturing corporations in China, Shanghai General Motor Wuiling (SGMW), Dongfeng automobile manufacturing corporation, Nhat Khi automobile corporation and Chinese corporation manufacturing heavy mechanized vehicles, all have factories located in Liuzhou City. By 2010, the city’s total number of manufactured and sold vehicles of all types exceeded 1.4 million units.
Liuzhou has been built into the place specialized in manufacturing automobiles of varied types such as minibus, small truck, car, multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), heavy and medium truck and other specialized vans, and initially segmented three separate groups of factories manufacturing complete vehicles, factories manufacturing components and company chain supplying automobile products.
