2011 was a difficult year for Trieu Son district due to the general economic turmoil and the complicated weather, especially prolonged cold season. However, under the leadership of Party’s committees and the unity of people, the district has proposed positive solutions, helping to attain significant achievements.
In 2011, Trieu Son district achieved many positive results: total volume of food production reached 130,088 tonnes, accounting for 101.3 percent over the target set for 2011; expanded areas of high quality, productive rice to 5,217.4 ha (accounting for 50 percent of sowing areas) from 2,028 ha in 2011; value of industrial production reached VND392 billion, accounting for 130.6 percent over the target set for 2011, up 48.2 percent over the year of 2010; the district organised training courses in handicrafts for 600 people in communes of Minh Dan, Tho The, Xuan Thinh, Tho Dan, Xuan Loc, Tho Phu; total capital for constructing infrastructure reached VND1,029 billion, accounting for 128.6 percent over the targets; total distribution to State’s Budget was estimated to be VND510.6 billion, 157 percent higher than the district’s forecast, particularly VND58.5 billion was gained in the district’s area; total amount of expenses from the State’s Budget was estimated to be VND345.2 billion, accounting 139 percent over earlier estimation; value of exported goods was VND80 billion, accounting 100 percent over the target set for 2011. Moreover, other fields such as culture, education, health care, national security were strongly maintained.
For the year of 2012 and next periods, Trieu Son district is striving to achieve several goals: GDP growth rate: 13.5 percent; income per capita per year: US$870; total food production: over 130,000 tonnes; industrial value: VND55 billion; total capital for constructing infrastructure: VND1,000 billion; budget income growth: 10 percent; loans granting: VND800 billion; poverty rate reduction: 3-4 percent; maintained national defense and security.
In order to obtain those targets, the district has identified 4 main breakthrough tasks: Improving the investment environment, creating resources for basic construction along with establishing new rural areas and developing urban areas; promoting the probable application of technological improvements in the area, creating favourable conditions for constructing new production model in agriculture; improving disciplines, capacity and effects of managements of local authorities from villages to towns; renewing and upgrading the quality of education and training, focusing on training tasks in agriculture and rural areas.
Moreover, the district continues to promote administrative reform under the Scheme that was adjusted, supplemented, focusing on administrative reform to meet the requirements of the Government in the period of integration and development, as well as to serve people better; Strictly control the issuance of legal documents in every field, avoid activities conducted out of authorities or inconsistently with current legal regulations; Enhance the coordination between People’ Committees, specialised agencies of People’s Committees with the Fatherland Front, oganisations of the same level, as well as relevant units involved in state management, in order to solve people’s problems more effectively.
