For the past 3 years, Tran Phu secondary school has been always taking the lead in the comprehensive education of Phu Ly city and Ha Nam province. The school has a consistently high graduation rate, well-equipped classrooms and a spacious campus.
Established in September, 1997, Tran Phu secondary school has recorded remarkable achievements. It was recognised as National Standard School for the 1st period 2001 - 2010 and for 2nd period in 2009 – 2010. It was honoured to receive Labour Order 2nd Class from the State President in 2011-2012 school year.
To improve education quality, for the past years, the school has launched many emulation movements such as “Building a friendly school with positive pupils”, which have attracted the participation of teachers and pupils, creating a lively learning environment.
The school has continuously improved infrastructure; the campus has been upgraded, making a clean and green pedagogical environment. It has invested in new equipments like computers and projectors, a multi-functional area including 3 computer rooms, 2 projection rooms, 2 labs for English teaching, a 150 seat meeting-hall and 6 practice rooms. The total investment of VND700 million comes from school capital, sponsors of organizations and individuals, socialized education capital. Headmistress Nguyen Bich Thuy stated “Learning is very important but it’s also important to create a friendly environment, motivating pupils to promote their abilities.”
Besides improving learning efficiency, the school has also paid attention to developing teacher professional knowledge. With propaganda, self- improvement, training on pedagogical knowledge, electronic teaching method, e-learning, English software, pupil management software… the teachers often help each other by dividing into knowledge groups to exchange to get the best results.
Upholding its role as key school of secondary level, for the past years, the school has unconsciously strengthened comprehensive education quality by solutions to improve training quality and advanced pupils. In 2 consecutive years, it takes the lead in quality, quantity in competitions for advanced pupils and the largest number of pupils passing Bien Hoa high school entrance exam. In 2011 – 2012 school year alone, a number of city- level advanced pupils are 247, province- level 53 and country- level 01. Many graders have achieved successes on knowledge path such as Dinh Ngoc Hai (awarded silver medal in The Asian Physics Olympiad and golden medal in International Physics Olympiads).
However, the school hopes that provincial People’s Committee, Department, Agency further pay attention to 2 education parts: large- scale education, advanced pupil improvement to invest on infrastructure and complete professional teachers.
In future, the school needs support from political organisations, especially in improving infrastructure and professional teachers for advanced pupils.
