Hanoi's Import-Export Value Soars Sharply

The total import and export value traded via the Hanoi Customs Department reached US$37.24 billion in the first half of 2022 (to June 15), up 31.3% year on year.

From May 15 to June 15, the value jumped 28.4% year on year to US$7.53 billion.

With a high growth of import and export value, customs declarations conducted via the Hanoi Customs Department also piled up. In June alone, more than 132,000 declarations were completed, 0.6% higher than a year earlier. Hanoi customs authorities settled nearly 630,000 declarations from January 1 to June 15, 2022, a year-on-year growth of 2.5%.

As a result, the State budget revenue of the Hanoi Customs Department also increased significantly. It reached VND2,656 billion in June and VND15,288 billion in the six-month period, equaling 121% of the value a year earlier. Hanoi City accounted for most of the budget revenue collected by the department, estimated at VND11,814 billion.
