President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Pham Tan Cong recently received Mr. Toyonaga Atsushi, President of the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation (SMRJ), to foster cooperation among Vietnamese and Japanese businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Japanese SMEs are now engaged in various business fields and act as an economic mainstay, said Mr. Atsushi, adding that they also receive support from the Japanese Government in foreign investment and export.
In that context, he hoped that SMRJ and VCCI will work together to come up with new cooperation programs and organize SME meetings for both sides to boost and support business connectivity, thereby finding cooperation opportunities in new fields.
SMRJ has a team of seasoned experts to support Japanese SMEs in investment consulting, market information search and business digitization, he added. SMRJ is always ready to cooperate with VCCI to share its experience in supporting the SME community.
Sharing the same view, VCCI President Pham Tan Cong said that it is necessary to strengthen measures to connect and support SMEs and startups in understanding the market and new investment opportunities, especially in high-value fields such as technology, energy and agriculture. He also suggested that SMRJ should advance cooperation with VCCI to build cooperation programs, meetings and direct contacts to more effectively support the business communities of the two sides.
2023 will mark an important milestone of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. VCCI President Cong hoped that VCCI with SMRJ and other Japanese organizations will jointly work to organize business networking events for SMEs in the two countries.
