Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan discusses cooperation with Governor Kuroiwa Yuji
Secretary Tuan presented the notable socioeconomic achievements of Bac Ninh province, highlighting its exceptional economic indicators on a national scale. Bac Ninh, characterized by rich cultural heritage and urgent cultural preservation needs, shares significant commonalities with Kanagawa in terms of geographical location, cultural traditions, and advancements in electronics. The two regions have actively initiated numerous collaborative activities spanning various domains.
Tuan urged Governor Kuroiwa Yuji to endorse the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Bac Ninh and Kanagawa. This document would serve as a foundational framework for facilitating support and collaboration across diverse sectors, with a particular focus on investment promotion and cultural exchanges. It aims to act as a conduit for encouraging Japanese companies, including those from Kanagawa, to explore investment prospects in Bac Ninh province, especially in areas where Bac Ninh seeks foreign investment and Japanese enterprises excel—such as industry, high-tech agriculture, environmental technology, digital transformation, semiconductors, renewable energy, green economy, and tourism. Tuan expressed the hope that Governor Kuroiwa would support Bac Ninh in sharing information and introducing distinctive cultural values, heritage sites, and renowned tourist destinations to the people of Kanagawa. Additionally, the proposal included establishing a Japanese cultural center in Bac Ninh, fostering cultural exchanges, and providing Japanese language education for the province's youth. Bac Ninh leaders assured their commitment to facilitating Kanagawa companies' investments in Bac Ninh and extending a welcome to Kanagawa business delegations for visits, surveys, cooperation, and investments in the province.
Governor Kuroiwa Yuji conveyed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended by Bac Ninh leaders. Reflecting on the past engagements, he mentioned the presence of a Bac Ninh delegation at the Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa Prefecture led by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. The Governor expressed his commitment to furthering friendly cooperation by introducing Bac Ninh's strengths to Kanagawa businesses, facilitating prompt investment promotion activities between the two regions.
Japan stands as Vietnam's principal economic, trade, investment, tourism, and labor partner. The collaborative efforts in economics, culture, education, local cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges have yielded significant positive outcomes. Currently, Japan has 103 projects with an investment capital of US$1.67 billion in Bac Ninh province, ranking as the third-largest contributor among the 40 countries and territories investing in the province, playing a pivotal role in its socio-economic development.
