Seventeen years after its establishment, Bonfiglioli Vietnam stands as a bridge between European technology and Vietnam’s industrial growth – delivering solutions that drive efficiency, sustainability, and progress.

Bonfiglioli has become a global leader in wind energy solutions, trusted by major turbine manufacturers across Europe, Asia, and the Americas
When Bonfiglioli entered Vietnam in 2008, the mission was clear: to bring European technology closer to one of Asia’s fastest-growing industrial landscapes. Today, that vision has taken shape in a modern 22,000 m² plant in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), where more than 225 Vietnamese professionals work side by side with their Italian counterparts to deliver high-quality gearmotors and solutions that keep industries moving forward.
Today, Bonfiglioli Vietnam stands as a strategic pillar in the company’s global network, uniting European engineering excellence with local manufacturing capability. Every solution produced here embodies precision, reliability, and adaptability – a reflection of decades of expertise tailored to meet the evolving needs of Vietnam’s industrial growth.
One of Bonfiglioli’s most significant contributions to the renewable energy transition lies in its wind pitch and yaw motor technology – critical components that enable wind turbines to convert the power of nature into clean electricity. The pitch motor adjusts blade angles to capture the optimal amount of wind, while the yaw motor ensures the nacelle always faces the wind direction. Together, they ensure stable operation and maximum efficiency in even the harshest weather conditions. With over two decades of experience, Bonfiglioli has become a global leader in wind energy solutions, trusted by major turbine manufacturers across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Globally, Bonfiglioli has set a corporate goal to achieve 100% renewable energy usage by 2030. This vision is already taking shape in Vietnam, where the HCMC plant currently sources 60% of its electricity from solar energy, demonstrating how sustainability commitments are being turned into tangible action.
Besides energy, this same spirit of innovation drives continuous investment – not only in factory automation but also in people development. The deployment of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) has optimized production flow, improved accuracy, and enhanced safety, while most of the production lines are now automated, featuring smart machines and robotic arms working in collaboration with skilled operators. At the same time, ongoing training and upskilling programs empower local employees to master advanced manufacturing technologies.

Bonfiglioli drives innovation through factory automation and workforce development
| Founded in Italy in 1956, Bonfiglioli is a global leader in power transmission and automation, operating in over 80 countries with 5,000 employees. In Vietnam, the company established its 22,000 m² plant in HCMC in 2008, employing more than 225 people. The facility serves as a key hub for Southeast Asia, delivering high-quality gearmotors and solutions that combine European technology with local expertise. |
“We are committed to making significant contributions to the local economy by creating high-quality jobs, investing in skills development, and fostering a culture of innovation. Our initiatives aim to promote sustainable practices that not only benefit our operations but also positively impact the communities in which we operate,” Andrea Genuini, General Manager at Bonfiglioli Southeast Asia affirmed.
This dual investment in people and automation reflects Bonfiglioli’s passion for growth and its belief that true progress comes from the partnership between European expertise and Vietnamese talent – a collaboration built to last.
As Vietnam and Europe celebrate 35 years of partnership, Bonfiglioli stands as a living example of how shared values – innovation, sustainability, and human development – can power lasting industrial transformation. From Bologna to HCMC, we continue to engineer motion that drives a greener, smarter future.
