Vietcombank Holds 7th Trade Union Congress for the 2025–2030 Term

On December 5, 2025, the Vietcombank Trade Union convened its 7th Congress for the 2025–2030 term at the Vietcombank School of Human Resources Training and Development in Ecopark Urban Area, Hung Yen Province.

The event was attended by Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; and Mrs. Nguyen Khanh Chi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam National Union of Bank Workers.

Representing Vietcombank were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Le Quang Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Director; Mr. Hong Quang, Member of the Board of Directors and President of the Vietcombank Trade Union; along with members of the Board of Directors, the Executive Board, and 210 distinguished delegates representing more than 23,000 employees, union members, and workers across the system.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Hong Quang emphasized that the 7th Congress was tasked with conducting a thorough review of the 6th Executive Committee’s leadership, contributing opinions on draft documents for the higher-level congress, and electing the 7th Executive Committee—comprising members who exemplify strong political integrity, professional ethics, leadership ability, courage, and vision to meet the increasing demands of innovation. The Congress was also responsible for electing the delegation to attend the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union.

The political report presented at the Congress affirmed that the Vietcombank Trade Union for the 2023–2025 term had excelled in its role of representing, supporting, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members; actively contributing to policy development, personnel initiatives, and welfare programs; and strengthening communication, education, and corporate culture, thereby fostering solidarity and responsibility throughout the organization. The Union also made significant contributions to innovation programs, operational improvements, digital transformation, ESG initiatives, and social security efforts—creating strong internal momentum for Vietcombank to maintain its position as Vietnam’s leading bank and one of the world’s top 100 banks by market capitalization.

Addressing the Congress on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietcombank Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung praised the Union’s achievements during the past term, particularly its efforts to improve employee welfare, promote a humane and professional working environment, and support the bank’s digital transformation and restructuring processes.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung commended the Vietcombank Trade Union for its outstanding results, noting its initiative and creativity in safeguarding workers’ rights; its strong sense of responsibility in communication, education, and organizing emulation movements; and its meaningful contributions to the banking sector’s social security activities.

In a democratic and responsible manner, the Congress elected 22 members to the 7th Executive Committee of the Vietcombank Trade Union, reflecting the trust, confidence, and expectations of union members and employees. The Congress also elected 40 official delegates and 6 alternate delegates to attend the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union.

The 7th Congress of the Vietcombank Trade Union concluded successfully, marking the beginning of a dynamic new term and setting the stage for strong progress in building a modern, resilient, and representative Trade Union—one that remains a trusted support for employees and a strategic partner to Vietcombank in its journey toward sustainable development and deeper global integration.
