Marking the 20th anniversary of the Song Gianh cement brand, Song Gianh Cement Joint Stock Company, a member of SCG, announced a new phase of its green growth strategy aligned with Vietnam’s green transition and Net Zero commitments. Under this roadmap, SCG aims to reduce CO₂ emissions from its cement operations in Central Vietnam by 23% by 2030, while accelerating its decarbonization pathway and expanding automation in operations to improve energy efficiency, optimize logistics, and reduce environmental impact across the entire production chain.

Song Gianh Cement welcomed students, media representatives, and distributors for plant tours to explore its production processes and sustainability roadmap on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.

Targeting a 23% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030

As Vietnam advances its Net Zero 2050 roadmap and promotes technological innovation and smart manufacturing through policies such as Resolution 57-NQ/TW, and in line with SCG’s Inclusive Green Growth strategy, Song Gianh Cement is implementing a range of initiatives to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency, and develop environmentally friendly construction materials, while modernizing its logistics system to strengthen supply capacity. As of 2025, the Group’s cement operations in Central Vietnam have reduced CO₂ emissions by approximately 9% compared to the 2020 baseline and aim to achieve a 23% reduction by 2030.

To support this goal, the plant has collaborated with specialized partners to co-process approximately 140,000 - 200,000 tons of waste annually as alternative fuel and raw materials. At the same time, the company continues to develop key products such as SCG Low Carbon cement, which incorporates SCG Nano technology and meets national green building standards.

In addition to emission reduction initiatives in production, the company is accelerating automation in operations and logistics to improve coordination efficiency and market responsiveness. In 2026, SCG plans to invest approximately USD 3.5 million in Auto Truck systems at the Song Gianh Cement plant to further optimize loading and transportation across the supply chain.
