Austria to Finance EUR35Mln to Help Vietnam Build Metro Route
Austrian Economics and Labor Minister Marin Bartenstein told Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet Wednesday [March 5] in Hanoi the Austrian government will provide a soft loan worth EUR35 million to help buy equipment for 19 underground trains in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Austrian minister noted that Austrian companies want to expand operations into Vietnam’s infrastructure, healthcare, communication and education areas, the newspaper said.
Accompanying Mr. Bartenstein are 20 trade firms this time. Mr. Bartenstein will witness signing of a contract between Viet A Bank and BGS Smartcard Systems.
Vietnam and Austria officially set up diplomatic ties in January 1973.
