Collecting Opinions for State Bank Law, Credit Organisation Law
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has recently coordinated with the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the National Assembly’s Commission for Economy and Budget to hold a seminar to seek opinions for State Bank Law and Credit Organisation Law in Hanoi.
The seminar is aimed at receiving opinions from enterprises, industry associations and specialists about the consistence, rationality and practicality of these bills to submit to the compiling boards and competent State organs for reference.
Contributing her opinions to the Law on Credit Organisation, Dr Le Thi Thu Thuy from the Law Faculty of the Vietnam National University of Hanoi said banking operations are very sensitive, complex, involved in the entire social interests and risky and the banking system is the “blood” of the economy; thus, the law to this effect needs to be amended to ensure consistency and practicality.
Many attendants said the draft Law on the State Bank did not provide sufficient powers to the State Bank as a central bank.
