HCM City GDP Growth Estimated at 7.5%-8% by End-2009

Ho Chi Minh City’s economy is forecast to grow 7.5%-8% to VND339.92 trillion by the year-end, state media reported, citing a report released at a meeting of the municipal Party Committee December 4.
 
The city’s growth rate is high at 10.3% in the second half of 2009, the report said.
 
The report showed that 18 out of total 20 socio-economic targets set by HCM City early this year will be fulfilled, especially those of investment fund for social development, state budget payment, unemployment solution, and poverty reduction.
 
HCM City expects its GDP growth to expand to above 10% to nearly VND411.47 trillion next year. (Vietnam Economic Times)
