The University of Social Sciences and Humanities under the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City has recently held a ceremony to inaugurate the “Japanese language learning equipment” project - a part of a US$67,632 small-scale non-refundable cultural aid of Japan for the Vietnamese education.
The project is aimed to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese teachers and students to learn and study on Japan in a better and more effective way, thus improving the study quality of students and the Japanese Studies Centre founded in 2007.
The multimedia laboratory is intended for teaching and learning Japanese language and culture. Mr Vo Van Sen, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said: In 2010, the university will open a Japanese study department to train bachelors, masters and doctors. The reception and use of the lab will help improve the quality of training programmes.
Japanese Consul in Ho Chi Minh City, Mizuki Ikuo, said: “[I] hope [I will have] a chance to meet these students after they use these facilities to speak Japanese more fluently and naturally to me.”
