German-Vietnamese Day Celebrated

German-Vietnamese Day was celebrated on April 14 in Bac Ninh Province. The event is only the first in a series of six German-Vietnamese Days being coordinated throughout the year.

 

The six cities were selected as venues due to their participation in the German ODA programme “Wastewater and Solid Waste Management in Provincial Centres”. The programme is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Construction (MoC), the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the People’s Committees and wastewater service providers of the six participating provinces, as well as German Development Cooperation agencies, including KfW Development Bank, German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), German Development Service (DED) and Capacity Building International (InWEnt).

 

In addition to urban infrastructure investments, including sewer lines, pumping stations and centralized wastewater treatment plants, the programme provides extensive capacity development to national and local government authorities and urban wastewater operating companies.
