Vietnam Southern Province IPs License 1,922 FDI Projs Totaling US$13B So Far

Vietnam’s southern province of Binh Duong-based industrial parks (IPs) have licensed 1,922 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects totaling US$13 billion so far.
 
Currently, Binh Duong province has 24 operational IPs and four underway, the Thoi bao Kinh te newspaper reported Tuesday.
 
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has recently approved the province to build two new IPs namely Lai Hung and Cay Truong. 
 
The locality is encouraging foreign firms to invest in the areas of hi-tech, services, finance, banking, telecom, training and human resource development.
 
The province ranked the second in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2009. (Vietnam Economic Times)
