Vietnam Tra Fish Export to Russia to Surpass 40,000 Tons This Year
Vietnam’s exports of tra fish to Russia in 2010 will surpass the 2009 volume of 40,000 tons, General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers Truong Dinh Hoe said, without giving expected values.
Local firms have so far signed deals with Russian partners to ship abroad 5,000 tons of tra fish monthly by the end of 2010, Hoe said in an interview with the Voice of Vietnam Radio.
Vietnam has seen stagnancy in exporting tra fish to Russia with only 6,000 tons in the first four months of this year, mostly due to low demand, he added.
Vietnam Steering Board for Tra Fish Export to Russia will meet Russian importers to discuss ways to boost the exports to the market, particularly in summer. (VOV)
