Hanoi to Invest VND55.5B to Grow Safe Veggies
Authorities in Hanoi have approved a project costing VND55.5 billion to boost the cultivation and consumption of safe vegetables in Thuy Huong commune, Chuong My district.
A majority of the total investment of VND32 billion will be sourced from the city’s budget; VND3.75 billion from the commune’s budget; VND4 billion from the state budget for the new rural area program; while the rest of nearly VND15.6 billion is from local farmers and companies.
Up to VND34.2 billion will be spent on infrastructure; VND4.6 billion on equipments and VND4.4 billion on side clearance.
The project will be carried out within three years from 2011 to 2013 on a total area of 79.5 hectares.
Thuy Huong is among 11 communes in Vietnam to benefit from the government-led new rural area program. (New Hanoi)
