The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) recently coordinated with the National Assembly Standing Committee for Public Administration Reform to organise a meeting on administrative procedure reform in the fields of land, housing, housing construction, tax and customs.
At the conference, attending companies openly expressed questions and difficulties in these fields, specially the construction and land fields. Mr Pham Gia Tuc, Vice President and General Secretary of VCCI, said: Competent State agencies will review administrative procedures in these fields, process persistent matters within their authority, and put forth unsettled ones to higher authorities if they are out of their power.
At present, more than 5,500 administrative procedures have been proposed for amendments and supplements to facilitate business and people to deal with administrative procedures, including 288 procedures recommended for eradication and 81 percent recommended for simplification. Ministries and State bodies also pledged to reduce 30 percent of administrative procedure compliance fees for people, or an equivalent of VND30 trillion a year.
