South Korea Visitors to Vietnam +29% to 331,518 in Jan-Aug
Vietnam welcomed 331,5218 South Korean holidaymakers in the first eight months of 2010, up 29% from a year earlier, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said on its website September 14.
In August, the Southeast Asia country received 42,328 tourists from the East Asia nation, up 14.9% on month and 16.3% on year.
Vietnam and South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on bilateral tourism cooperation in Seoul early this year under which the former will send more delegations and work closely with agencies of the latter to boost tourism in the near future.
South Korea, together with China and Cambodia remain the largest markets of Vietnam’s tourism industry. Annually, the country receives 400,000 Korean tourists. (www.vietnamtourism.gov.vn)
