Asian Coast Development (Canada) Ltd (ACDL) has recently resumed the Ho Tram Strip tourism complex project in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, said the provincial Department of Planning and Investment.

The department was cited by the Dau Tu newspaper as saying that the implementation of the $4.2-billion project has been lag behind schedule due to negative impacts of the global financial crisis.

The project will be implemented into six phases until 2020.

In the first phase, the ACDL will invest $165 million to build Vietnam’s first Las Vegas-style casino, a 19-store hotel with 541 guest rooms, and a championship golf course. The phase is expected to finish in Oct 2012.
