How many businesswomen won the Golden Rose Award this time?
Golden Rose Award started in 2005 to honour businesswomen making important contributions to socio-economic development. It is a prestigious award attracting great interest from all provinces, ministries, economic groups, corporations, associations and businesswomen. Therefore, it is always a hard job for the Award Council. This year, though the process began later than previous years, we have received nearly 300 sets of documents of candidates. Therefore, it will take some more time for the selection. The Organizing Committee is trying its best to keep to the schedule.
What are the award criteria this year, are there any differences with previous years?
The award is a transparent and accountable process with specific and well-defined criteria. In addition to the normal criteria in two fields: achievements ofenterprises owned or led by entrepreneurs and achievements of entrepreneurs themselves, this year special consideration is given to corporate social responsibilities (CSR) concerning payments to workers, environment protection, export encouragement, entrepreneur’s capacity, and balanced care for business and family.
How do you evaluate Golden Rose Awards in recent years?
Golden Rose Award is a prestigious award at home and abroad. It does not only honour women in business activities, but also their contributions to their family’s happiness. The award helps them work harder, especially in the conditions of national and world economic difficulties. Winners of Golden Rose Awards in the past years have continued their efforts for modern Vietnamese women. They have made significant contributions to socio-economic development in Vietnam.

How do you evaluate the contribution of women entrepreneurs in economic development? What are their advantages in surmounting economic crisis?
In the past two years, the world suffered from global economic crisis and high inflation. The prices rise fast in recent months causing big challenges to businesses, especially those managed by women. However, women entrepreneurs are dynamic and resourceful, creative and sensible, contributing their part in stabilizing the economy.
The Golden Rose Award this time is most meaningful, recognizing achievements and contribution of women entrepreneurs in business activities, job generation and economic management in the time of global crisis. The award is also an encouragement for women entrepreneurs to overcome the challenges of the current inflation.
