Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Wednesday received Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC) Guo Boxiong, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

PM Dung regarded the working visit as a vivid symbol for the traditional and friendly ties between Vietnam and China.

Vietnam always remember the valuable assistance given by Chinese people to its national liberation in the past as well as the country’s construction and renovation process at present, stressed the PM.

He also hailed the results of the talks earlier on the same day between Vietnamese National Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh and Vice Chairman Guo Boxiong.
Vietnam is striving to join hands with China to cement and deepen the bilateral relations in line with the “16 golden words” and “four goods” spirit that were put forth by the two countries’ leaders, PM Dung said, adding that the two sides would take more positive steps to solve the remaining problems, especially the East Sea issue.

CMC Vice Chairman Guo Boxiong revealed that via the working visit, he hopes to enhance cooperative linkages and mutual understanding between the two countries, particularly to raise the bilateral military ties to the level of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China.

Mr Guo promised to do his utmost to work with the Vietnamese side to solve the differences between the two sides on the East Sea issue, and that the two countries would be cautioned at the hostile forces’ plot to separate the bilateral traditional friendship.
