Dong Ha City: Effectively Reforming Administrative Procedures

To become an economic centre of the province as now, the leaders and people of Dong Ha City have done a lot to improve the business climate to attract investors, particularly reforming administrative procedures. At present, the city has 40 investment projects in industrial zones and 32 projects engaged in supermarkets, hotels and services located along National Road 9D, with a total registered capital of VND1,800 billion.

 

Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh, Chairman of Dong Ha People’s Committee, said: "Since 1999, Dong Ha has been a pioneer in Quang Tri province to pilot administrative procedure reform funded by the Government of Sweden and has obtained very positive results. We have also drawn valuable experience from this project."

 

Currently, the Dong Ha City People's Committee has effectively implemented administrative procedure reform and promulgated regulations on documentation, procedures, time and order in accordance with the single-window mechanism. All nine wards are applying the single-window mechanism. The one-stop-shop reform has boosted the improvement of the investment environment and livelihoods for people.

 

He asserted that the city always attaches importance to training and fostering professional skills for civil servants. It focuses on perfecting and consolidating subordinates to the City People’s Committee in a rational and professional way. Hence, this will be an important factor to improve the investment environment to make Dong Ha a dynamic economic centre of Quang Tri province. The city targets to become a third-grade urban zone before 2020.
