Coming to Haiphong port city today, we have chance to see with our own eyes its changes. With the event of the National Tourism Year of the Red River Delta-Haiphong 2013, Haiphong will be the destination for tourists and delegates from across the country. As the owner of key projects including Nga 5-Cat Bi new urban area (304,96 ha), central route of 100 m width, and Lach Tray-Ho Dong new urban area (279,98 ha), over the years, Investment Trade for Urban Development One Member Limited Company has contributed to making impressive highlights for Red Flamboyant City.
Having undergone 10 years of growth and development, the company is the first unit to build "Junction 5 - Cat Bi Airport" into the most modern large-scale new urban area in Haiphong City. The area is of great significance to the comprehensive development of the province. The two main lines will form an urban grid transport system mingled with various business centres, apartments, villas, administrative offices, public buildings, trees and gardens. All this creates a new urban area with modern infrastructure and facilities, making an important contribution to changing the urban image of Haiphong City.
 
Thanks to this,urban residents’ lives have been improved and jobs have been given to thousands of labourers. To date, the total investment of individuals and organizations in the project has reached over VND16,800 billion. It also helps realize the strategic socio-economic development objective of the country, and Haiphong in particular, laying the groundwork for development of the Hanoi - Haiphong - Quang Ninh economic triangle.
 
Following the success of the new urban Junction 5-Cat Bi Airport project, the company continues to invest in central road construction projects and the new urban Lach Tray – Dong Ho project. This road is expected to become the largest and nicest of Haiphong City.
 
With the mission of implementing big infrastructure projects for new urban areas of the city over the last years, the company has laid special focus on detailed surveys, compensation and site clearance. This task is considered the key determinant to 70-80 percent of the company’s success. The company’s management board has been deeply aware of this and has paid close attention to training personnel in charge of compensation, site clearance and renovating working methods from time to time to meet the requirements.
 
Sharing about the company’s recent achievements, Mr Dong Minh Doan, General Director, revealed that detailed surveys, compensation and site clearance are specifically planned out for each area and supervisors are appointed to take responsibility for monitoring the implementation progress and dealing with difficulties or obstacles.
 
Additionally, the company closely cooperated with communication media to carry out propaganda and release articles on the designed projects to raise awareness among local people of the significance of these projects, as well as related mechanisms, policies on compensation, assistance and resettlement. Full understanding serves as the background for individuals and households proper participation in detailed surveys, compensation and site clearance.
 
Besides, leasing office and business centre space, organizing events and putting into use Cat Bi Plaza is one of the strategic development orientations of the company in the near future.
 
Sharing further about the development strategy in the hard period of our current economy, Mr Doan identified quite a few difficulties which are to be faced in the coming time. The biggest concerns lie in problematic site clearance and compensation policy.
