With its soy-centred strategy, during its 15 years of construction and development, Vietnam Soymilk Company (Vinasoy) has confidently left a good impression in the hearts of consumers and firmly progressed with impressive achievements: Taking the lead in the country in soymilk production and processing with 78 percent of the market share of packaged soy milk and becoming the first Vietnamese soymilk producer to be ranked Top 5 in the world.
Asserting leadership
Vinasoy only focuses on natural soymilk production. And, in the past more than 15 years, Vinasoy has always been a top manufacturer and supplier of soymilk products for the broad consumer market with its key products Vinasoy and Fami soymilk.
Knowing that outdated technology and obsolete machinery cannot make high-quality products, Vinasoy, since its inception, has boldly invested in modern production lines supplied by TetraPak Group of Sweden - the world's leading provider of food processing and packaging technological solutions. This is the only synchronous soymilk production system in Vietnam. Powered by the application of appropriate Tetra-AlwinSoy technology, this system supports breakthroughs in natural soymilk quality and preserves valuable nutrients in soybeans.
Along with modern equipment, machinery and technology, the supply of input materials is also an important factor. Mr Ngo Van Tu, Managing Director of Vinasoy, said modern technology is not enough to make quality, delicious soy milk. Consumers love Vinasoy soymilk products also because of their faith in Vinasoy brand - a leading soy expert with over 15 years of specialised professional experience.
With his valuable experience, Vinasoy is keen on selecting inputs to ensure the quality, nutrient standard and safety of 100 percent soy. Particularly, the unique formula, constantly improved in the past 15 years, and the devotion of a leading expert who always studies to understand consumer tastes, have helped Vinasoy introduce much-loved delicious, quality soymilk products.
Specially, the strength and the pride of Vinasoy also lie in its enthusiastic, united and cohesive staff. That explains why Vinasoy’s business results still expand even in the time of economic downturn. With two brands, Vinasoy and Fami, serving two different groups of customers, Vinasoy is now the leading soymilk producer in the country with over 78 percent of the packaged soy milk market share. It also leads in other market segments, according to market research for June 2013 by Nielsen Company. In the past 10 years, the company has enjoyed average annual sales growth of over 40 percent. Vinasoy’s revenue was nearly VND1,900 billion in 2012 and is expected to reach VND2,440 billion in 2013. This result has demonstrated that the focus on soybeans brings strong growth and sustainability to Vinasoy.
A new page for soybean aspirations
After its first soymilk factory in Quang Ngai province, Vinasoy officially inaugurated the second factory in Bac Ninh province powered by most modern technology of Tetra Pak on July 24, 2013. This event has opened a new page for Vinasoy soybean aspirations its more than 15-year journey to sustainable development, and translated the company’s spirit of “Focus for differentiation and leadership."
The Vinasoy - Bac Ninh soymilk factory, covering 6.1 ha in Tien Son Industrial Park, has a designed capacity of 180 million litres a year (90 million litres a year in the first phase). The facility has completed the first phase and started operations in May 2013 to meet the huge demand on the market, especially in the north.
The facility has synchronous, self-contained equipment fully automated from the input stage to the finished packaging stage, imported from Tetra Pak Group. Mr Bert Jan Post, CEO of Tetra Pak Vietnam, said: "The Vinasoy - Bac Ninh factory uses the most modern processing technology from Tetra Pak which enables the maximum extraction of soy protein and preservation of natural flavour of this natural soybean. The Vinasoy factory also uses the synchronous, speediest A3 Speed packaging system. With huge investment for the most advanced equipment from Europe, Vinasoy brings soymilk with the purest, freshest, most nutritious taste to Vietnamese consumers across the nation. People in far-lying regions also have the chance to drink Vinasoy soymilk because, with the UHT pasteurisation technology, Vinasoy soymilk does not need to use preservatives to keep its delicious, pure taste for 6 months".
Vinasoy has applied the Tetra Alwin Soy technology - the most modern extraction technology currently applied by leading soy manufacturers in the world - to continuously take extracts of soybeans. With this technology, soybeans will be fed into production lines to deactivate enzymes that cause indigestion and abdominal distension and extract most of the nutrients. Another technological superiority of the Vinasoy factory is UHT aseptic treatment and sterilisation technology using paper packaging to completely prevent bacterial infiltration and oxidisation in food storage, thus helping keep the true flavour and nutrition of soymilk for six months without using any preservatives. With self-contained, automated production and control lines from A to Z, the Vinasoy factory always meets stable product quality for consumers. As a result, millions of Vinasoy products have the same quality.
The construction and operation of Vinasoy - Bac Ninh soymilk plant marked a major milestone and asserted a strong breakthrough of Vinasoy’s capacity. The north plays an important part in the company’s business activities with more than 47 percent of its sales. The plant will meet the high demand among northern consumers, cut transport costs for the company, and limit product damage caused by long transport. Especially, with a designed capacity of 180 million litres a year, which requires 15,000 tonnes of soybeans and generates more than 20,000 tonnes of soybean meal, the Vinasoy - Bac Ninh soymilk plant will be a stable consumer for nearly 10,000 ha of soybeans and generate an agricultural ecological environment and a source of food for livestock and poultry, and improve stable incomes for farmers in the province and other Red River Delta provinces.
Mr Tu said: "In the future, apart from soymilk - the company’s flagship product, the Vinasoy - Bac Ninh plant will also make other soybean-sourced products for consumers. Besides, Vinasoy will continue collaborating with reputable foreign partners to study and apply new scientific methods to optimise benefits from small soybeans and provide a valuable source of nutrition for Vietnamese consumers.”
