Dream City is an urban, eco-tourism development in a prime location in Tam Nong district, Phu Tho province. Conveniently located just about sixty kilometers from Hanoi, Dream City is highly accessible through four different routes: West Lake – Bavi – Xuan Mai – National Highway No.32, National Highway No.32, Thang Long Freeway – Ho Chi Minh Highway (planned), and Noi Bai – Lao Cai Freeway (planned). In addition to its proximity to Hanoi, Dream City also benefits from its propinquity to Hung Temple Complex, the main site where the Worship of Hung Kings, a UNESCO-certified Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is observed by millions of pilgrims annually.
Situated on an over two thousand hectares of beautiful natural landscape with rolling hills and sparkling lakes, Dream City is designed to provide world-class entertainment and recreation services and experiences to its visitors as well as a relax and tranquil living environment to its residents. The development consists of nine areas: an urban center completed with office high rises, retail centers, theatre, cinema, convention center and other infrastructures and amenities, a residential area with luxury villas and townhomes, a luxury resort and spa area with hot spring, a five-star hotel and casino area, a thirty-six-hole golf course, an entertainment park, a safari, a horse racing venue, and a sport complex. When completed, Dream City will be the largest recreational complex in Southeast Asia.
Since its inception in 2010, Dream City has attracted tremendous interest from foreign investors and partners, notably Samsung Group. However, the recent real estate and economic slowdown in Vietnam has hindered the progress on the development and caused Viet Han to reschedule, extend the development process and reprioritize the components. Starting in late 2012, Viet Han has resumed the development process with investments in Dream Golf, the 171.65-hectare, thirty-six-hole golf course. Viet Han has brought on new partner, Orange Engineering, a leading Korean golf course design, consulting, and construction management company. With Orange’s expertise and experiences, Dream Golf will meet the most stringent standards on golf course design, including safety, flexibility, shot value, fairness, progression, flow, balance, tournament qualities and aesthetics. Viet Han has also received approval for credit from Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam to clear the land and construct the first eighteen holes of the course. Construction is expected to commence in early 2014 and completed in twenty four months. In conjunction with making progress on the golf course component, Viet Han has been reaching out to potential partners and investors to develop the entertainment park components, Dream Land. Dream Land is planned on a 153.58-hectare tract of land and will consist of extensive, world-class theme park and water park.
Throughout the development process and especially during the real estate slowdown, Viet Han has received enormous support and understanding from the local authorities, both at Tam Nong district and Phu Tho province. The success of each component and of the entire Dream City development will be a result of industrious and indefatigable effort from both Viet Han and local authorities.
