Strong willpower, perseverance and determination to be rich have turned a dutiful inspector into a successful, respected businesswoman. That is Tran Thi Ngoc Khanh, President and CEO of Hoang Hai Construction and Trade Joint Stock Company.
Like any other businessperson founding a business as the country started renovation and opening, her route was not covered with red carpet. She often says that her current success is accrued from the efforts of the entire company, particularly the support of consumers. But, indeed, her labour and leadership are significant.
After graduating from the National University of Economics, she worked for a State inspection agency. In 1994, she left a stable employment in a State agency, a dream for many people, and entered the real estate field with Hoang Hai brand name. With her great agility on customer needs and tastes, plus her passion and dedication to business, she led her company to success and gained the trust and satisfaction of customers. Then, she diversified business fields and found further success. Not only that, in 2006, after many contacts and exchanges with foreign companies, particularly after receiving the support of major French companies and European markets, Ms Khanh - a successful real estate businesswoman - stepped into the jewellery business.

Investing in high-grade jewellery, Ms Khanh has created employment for many workers and trained many countryside workers to become skilled goldsmiths and artisans. Currently, Hoang Hai jewellery unit is employing nearly 200 workers who are paid VND7-9 million each a month.
Being daring, flexible and versatile in all situations, she has a happy family where she knows to create and keep a warm atmosphere. In business, she is assertive, brave, energetic, enterprising and responsible. And, it seems that her family and business affairs are mutually complementary.
With outstanding business achievements, she has been presented a lot of awards and titles from the Party, the State and social organisations, including the certificate of merit for the cause of Vietnamese jewellery industry development, the certificate of merit for winning the Golden Rose Cup in three straight years and the certificate for brilliant executives. She was also chosen to accompany Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan to attend the Global Summit of Women in Turkey in 2011. Her success comes from not only her integrity, experiences or challenges in the past 20 years, but also from virtue - a kind of invisible but splendid decoration: the simplicity of an intelligent and kind-hearted woman.
