JETRO, MPI Sign Cooperation Agreement

Mr Hiroyuki ISHIGE, Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) received Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Tokyo, Japan.
The host proposed specific cooperation programmes with the Vietnamese Prime Minister, aiming to boost economic ties between the two countries by accelerating investment promotions and further improving the investment environment in Vietnam.
On the same day, JETRO signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam in the presence of Vietnamese and Japan Prime Ministers. The contents of the agreement include programmes to call Japanese businesses to invest in Vietnam, supports for Japanese businesses to carry out agricultural projects in Vietnam, and supports for the development of Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
With this cooperation agreement, JETRO will contribute to Vietnam’s economic development by strengthening investment promotion, agricultural cooperation, and SME development in order to help Vietnam to carry out industrialisation strategy and deepen the bilateral relations.
