After 17 years of construction and development, the Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (Incham) has made ongoing efforts to excellently fulfil the tasks assigned by the Government of India. Notably, Incham has completed the objective of strengthening the relationship between Indian businesses with the Government of Vietnam to promote economic and commercial diplomacy. The Chamber is also serving as a bridge for businesses of both nations and functioning as the heart of the Indian community in Vietnam.
Incham has gradually developed and won the absolute trust of Vietnamese people because it has created forums for its members to support and complement each other in the process of establishing organisational structure and serving the development of Indian businesses in Vietnam. By this way, it has also supported the Government of Vietnam to boost commercial and economic cooperation between India and Vietnam by spreading information on Vietnam to Indian businesses and industrialists. At the same time, Incham always supports and advises its members on lawful business operations in accordance with laws of Vietnam.
Not only excellently performing its missions, Incham also takes considerate care of its members by exchanging information about business performances and other works in connection with their interests. For that reason, Incham always provides the most favourable conditions for its members and their families to live and work in the best environment in Vietnam. Specifically, Incham has organised events for its members and the community, including dermatological study business conference, CanCham Networking Night, and first and second plenary meetings, Vietnam - India Conference, “India - My idea” painting contest, the 69th anniversary of India Independence Day, blood donation camp in 2015 and family reunion.
In addition to promoting economic and commercial relations between India and Vietnam, Incham also shows its special compassion and adoration to Vietnam. Specifically, INCHAM always joins with Vietnam to participate in voluntary and solidarity activities in the nationalistic spirit of Vietnamese people like raising the fund for upgrading Binh Phuoc Medical Centre, granting scholarships for students, building Vietnam - India Friendship Bridge in Can Gio district, presenting 17 houses to people in Can Gio district, raising money to support victims of Agent orange, and donating bloods.
The programmes hosted by Incham have increased the spirit of solidarity and mutual understanding, introduced Indian cultures to Vietnam and strengthen Vietnam - India friendship. This is the motivation for Incham to move forward and become the heart of Vietnam - India cooperation, thus boosting the economic and trade ties to new highs.
Mr Jay Prakash Shriram, Chairman of Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam said, “Trade between India and Vietnam has been continuously growing year by year which reached US$8 billion and has set targets of US$15 billion by 2020. I am delighted that Incham has been steering up efforts to make trade and commercial activities effectively so that export & Import between Vietnam and India can reach to new heights.
