Hung Ca Company Limited was officially established in February, 2006 in Binh Thanh Industrial Zone, Dong Thap province, with an area of 250 hectares of farming areas and the initial investment of US$45 million, after 10 years of formation and development, Hung Ca Company has become one of the companies growing, processing and exporting seafood that is prestige for quality. Providing the products that meet the best quality standards, the Company always tries to change the farming and processing methods, aiming to adapt to the integration of the market and the increasing requirements of the consumers.
According to Mr Tran Van Hung - General Director of Hung Ca Co., Ltd, currently Hung Ca Company owns more than 700 hectares of farming area with a production capacity of over 210,000 tonnes per year, in which 80 hectares of Global GAP standards, thereby becoming one of the companies that owns the largest pangasius farming area in the Mekong river delta. In addition to strict monitoring of production processes, in 2010 Hung Ca aqua feed processing plant was formally established, from which the Company applies a closed production process from farming, processing and export under HACCP, BRC, HALAL, ISO 22000, IFS, GLOBAL GAP international standards, particularly the management process according to ASC standards. On the other hand, with more than 6,000 skilled young workers and working under the direct management of many highly dedicated professionals, Hung Ca Co., Ltd send to each product the best quality, more and more complete and development, providing for customers with superior products that reach international standards.
Due to well control on quality, for many years, Hung Ca Co., Ltd has overcome many difficulties from demanding markets such as USA, EU, etc and constantly builds credibility, and conquers many different markets around the world through the commodities of pangasius, basa fish and value added products from pangasius, basa fish.
In the future, when Vietnam officially joins the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and the forthcoming is Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), besides some agricultural commodities in Vietnam will face difficulties, Vietnam still has many commodities that have advantages, including pangasius in the Mekong delta. This will be a great opportunity for fishery exports in general and pangasius in particular. The countries participating in TPP will significantly cut the taxes of imports of goods. At the same time it will open an opportunity for seafood enterprises to find the potential markets, market expansion and enhance business cooperation to improve product quality and improve the chain of value added products.
However, this is also a big challenge requiring Vietnam seafood enterprises to rethink about the production methods to engage deeper integration. Because, when coming to big markets, enterprises need to change the way of thinking and acting, producing products in line with the market and ensuring the quality of goods according to customer requirements.
Like other seafood enterprises of Vietnam, Hung Ca Co., Ltd is also facing many opportunities and challenges brought by the integration. To be active before difficulties, gradually assert its position and reputation in the market, the Company has set out the guidelines, policies and put the quality on top, considering it as a guideline to survive in the development process. Accordingly, the Company continues to complete the programme applying VietGAP, Global GAP standards in the future with the goal that the entire pangasius material area will be certified, and these certificates will confirm the quality of the products, and recognize the ongoing efforts of Hung Ca Co., Ltd that always think for the customers, contribute to ensuring the sustainable development of the fishery sector, especially to promoting the image of pangasius of Vietnam.
Besides, along with the business support in investment of scientific applications - new technology, creating value-added products to enhance competitiveness in the market, Mr Tran Van Hung has asked the government of all levels, from the central to local levels that there should be mechanisms and policies to create favorable conditions for enterprises, farmers to develop production; encourage farmers to participate in the link chains or cooperative groups to associate with enterprises and gradually remove the difficulties on material resources.
