Vietnam Business Forum conducts an interview with Mr. Huynh Thong Minh, Key Account Manager - Electronic & Light Assembly (ELA), Festo Vietnam Co., Ltd. about Festo business stratergy and the target to maximize productivity and competitiveness for its customers.

Can you give a brief introduction of Festo?

Festo offers products, systems and services surrounding pneumatic and electrical control and drive technology – whether in the factory or process automation sector.  Our comprehensive range and our industry-specific expertise are applied in the production and assembly areas of various industrial segments. Whether it is the automotive or electronics industry, printing and packaging technology, the semiconductor or solar industry. Additionally, Festo have co-operated with OEMs and system integrators for providing our customers a wide product and service portfolio – from individual components to complex customised solutions and systems.

What are strengths and advantages of the products made by Festo which can affect to help provide ready-to-install solutions, saving cost, high efficiency and security?

High quality products and energy saving are our strengths. Security, efficiency, simplicity and competency, qualities which are found in all of our products, services and training offerings for factory and process automation.    

Can you assess the perspective about Vietnam’s industrial production, including the electronic industry?

Vietnam’s electronics industry is booming with bright prospects. This is also one of industries requiring highest technologies and machines, almost production process are fully automated.  Their priorities are product quality and tracking the production progress so that they highly require on the quality of automation equipments in their production line. This is one of our opportunities because Festo is famous for high quality products. Additionally, Festo not only work with our customers to meet their requirements and increase their productivity but also intuitive solutions for industrial automation.       

What is your point of view about the opportunity of Vietnam’s manufacturing industry in ASEAN and the global market after completed participate in free trade agreements (FTAs) and AEC, including the effects and trend of investment from foreigner companies to Vietnam’s market?

After participating in TPP and AEC, more and more high-tech electronics producers are establishing a presence in Vietnam, such as Samsung, LG, Canon, Intel... Predict that the investment in Vietnam will be increased in the future and Vietnam will become the biggest electronics production center of Asia. The impacts of this integration bring us various opportunities and also challenges at the same time, require Vietnamese businesses should enhance their efficiency and competitiveness to not only catch the trends but also be ahead of the game.

Can you share the marketing plan of Festo in next 3 years?

In next 3 years, Festo will focus on customer solutions and ready to install solutions for helping customer saving their cost and time. Festo intends to invest more in manpower, and co-operates with OEMs and system integrators to become a comprehensive automation company - Everything from a single source 

By participating to Nepcon Vietnam 2016 exhibition, Festo hope that will bring visitors up to the next level of automation. We focus on electric automation and new technologies for electronics industry and PCB, including wafer handling with VEAB Piezo valves, tripod EXPT - High-speed handling unit with robot functionality for free movement in 3D space, and intelligent vision system finds its own test position.
