The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Project Management Unit of Energy Efficiency Improvement in Commercial and High-Rise Residential Buildings in Vietnam (EECB PMU) and the project owners at the Ministry of Construction, 37 Le Dai Hanh, Hanoi on June 16, 2017. The Anland high-end apartment complex (Anland) of Nam Cuong Corporation is one among five selected projects to participate in the demonstration of energy efficient technologies and solutions in the Construction Sector.
Within the framework of the component building energy effiecient technology applications and replications on demonstration of Construction Sector, the EECB project implemented by the Ministry of Construction with the support of the Global Environment Facility(GEF) through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) selected Anland to participate in the component after a thorough evaluation. Anland met EECB’s high standards and requirements of design, material selection and operational management.

The MoU Signing Ceremony was chaired by Mr. Le Trung Thanh, Director of EECB PMU - Director of Department of Science, Technology and Environment with the participation of the representatives of the Ministry of Construction, UNDP, Mr. Tran Nhu Trung - Deputy General Director of Nam Cuong Corporation, Mr. Poul Erik Kristensen - the leading expert on green building of IFC (a member of the World Bank Group), and many national and international experts. According to the MoU, Anland was selected by the EECB and the Ministry of Construction to demonstrate energy efficiency in commercial and high-rise residential buildings in Vietnam (EECB) funded by the GEF through UNDP from April 2016 to 2020. The project aims to reduce GHG emission of the Construction Sector and promote energy efficiency of commercial and residential high-rise buildings in Vietnam. It is said that EECB selected 16 buildings for energy efficient demonstration from the survey of more than 100 high-rise residential and commercial buildings.

To fulfill the commitment “Not only build houses but also create living environment and contribute to improve the life quality of Vietnamese people”, Nam Cuong Corporation signed an MoU with EECB, aiming toward the very low energy consumption building, exceeding at least 30% of the requirement of Standard 09:2013/BXD.
Collaborated closely with the EECB PMU’s team of consultants in all stages of architectural design and selection and installation of energy consuming equipment. Nam Cuong Corporation and the Ministry of Construction will organize visits and disseminate results on energy efficiency of Anland to raise public awareness.
Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Ngoc acknowledged that the signing of MoU with the EECB PMU reaffirmed the core values of Credible - Sustainability – Socially Responsibility that Nam Cuong Corporation pursues. From the perspective of a professional and dedicated real estate developer, Nam Cuong Corporation perpetually considers to create more practical, innovative buildings and products which bring sustainable value to the customers.

Anland is located in Duong Noi Township in the west of Hanoi, adjacent to To Huu Street, built on a total area of 8.570m2, building density of 30% with 25 floors and 593 apartments. Located in Duong Noi Township, Anland is equipped with a full range of facilities for serving community, including: hospital, system of public and international schools, and the first Astronomy Theme Park in Vietnam. On the occasion that Anland was selected for demonstration of energy efficient solutionsin commercial and residential high-rise buildings in Vietnam, Nam Cuong Corporation affirmed the recognition and trust from the community and the Construction Sector. The event also represented Nam Cuong Corporation’s great responsibility in the journey of creating real estate products aiming toward sustainability and profound humanity.
The EECB project is implemented by the Ministry of Construction with the support from the Global Environment Fund (GEF) through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The project will contribute effectively to the implementation and application of National Technical Regulation on Energy Efficiency Buildings QCVN 09:2013/BXDthrough implementation of three components (1) Improvement and Enforcement of Energy Efficiency Building Code; (2) Building Market Development Support Initiatives, and (3) Building EE Technology Applications and Replications. Officially implemented in April 2016, the EECB project set the goal of assisting the Government of Vietnam in reduction of the greenhouse gas emission of the building sector through policy support and facilitation of the application of scientific and technological solutions on energy efficiency. Through these three components, the project aims to cut 236,382 tonnes of CO2 over the next four years.
