Tan Cang - Cai Cui is the 17th port in the port system of Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) across the country. In spite of being a new operator, the Tan Cang - Cai Cui Port has contributed positively to supporting the transport of imports and exports of the Mekong Delta.
Service capacity is constantly improving
Tan Cang - Cai Cui port has an area of nearly seven ha with two warehouses of 6,400 m², a wharf of 180m long and 8.5m deep, can accommodate ships of up to 35,000 tonnes, but the port currently receives only 20,000-tonne ships due to the limit of Quan Chanh Bo Canal. This is the first container port in the Mekong Delta to be equipped with modern loading and unloading facilities for both container and bulk cargoes with three 45-tonne mobile crane hooks, 150 cold-storage terminals and unloading area; ensuring the needs of shipping lines and economic development in the Mekong Delta. The system of management and operation by modern information technology is connected synchronously with the server system of the corporation in Ho Chi Minh City.
At present, Tan Cang - Cai Cui Port has opened a container shipping route from Hai Phong to Ho Chi Minh City since October 2016 (the only port in the Mekong Delta to do this), showing the distinction and strength in the area. It is also an important landmark linking the Northern Economic Zone to the Mekong Delta through a system of ports, five ships, 100 barges and over 1,000 tractors of Tan Cang. In April 2017, Tan Cang - Cai Cui also completed the international shipping agency service in receiving the GLANXIU ship (Japan) carrying 1,768 live cattle from Australia (Once gaining stable customers, it will receive an average of 5-6 shipments / year). Colonel Vu Khanh Duong, Director of Saigon Newport Corporation in Southwest Region and Director of Tan Cang-Cai Cui Port - said that GLANXIU was the first international vessel to enter Tan Cang-Cai Cui port since the port was upgraded and put into operation on 24 October 2016; asserting the capacity of SNP in the exploitation of containerised goods, general cargo, logistics services of Can Tho City in particular and the whole Mekong Delta in general.
In addition to these important events, the Tan Cang - Cai Cui port also attracts, receives and unloads steel structures, steel sheets, steel for building for Long Phu 1 thermal power plant (by Dai Nghia 09 ship of 1,300 tonnes and SAM 1 ship of 900 tonnes) and will continue to operate other ships until the plant is completed At the end of December 2017, the port expects to welcome international feeder Cai Cui-Singapore-Port K 'Lang (Malaysia) with frequency of one trip/week, performed by foreign shipping company.
The goal of Tan Cang - Cai Cui is to become a new destination in the port system of Saigon Newport Corporation brand, operating professionally, efficiently and conveniently with top quality service for importers and exporters, shipping lines used in seaport and logistics services in the Mekong Delta; thereby contributing to the economic development of the region, reducing the pressure of traffic jam, traffic for Ho Chi Minh City. In order to realise the target, Tan Cang - Cai Cui will continuously invest in self-improvement, continue to bring many benefits to customers from high loading, unloading, safe and fast delivery. This helps to maximise cost savings and bring optimal convenience and efficiency to the customers. "Our strategy is to connect 17 ports and the strength of the waterways in the port system with the slogan ‘Come to Tan Cang is to come to top quality service’ to exploit the port and provide logistics services, thus giving customers the best choice on high quality, increasing the competitiveness of goods abroad," said Colonel Vu Khanh Duong.
Active in social security
As a unit with facilities in Can Tho City, Saigon Port Corporation (SNP) has actively cooperated with the Party, authorities and people of Can Tho City to perform well its social charity; caring for labourers, with a total amount of over VND2 billion.
Particularly in Can Tho City, in the past years, employees of Tan Cang in Can Tho city have supported the movement to build new rural areas of the city with the amount of VND350 million, supported the "Fund for the Poor" in Cai Rang district with the amount of over VND300 million; Give gifts to agencies, policy households, people with merits in Can Tho City on the occasion of the festival, Tet with an annual amount of over VND120 million. Promoting achievements in caring and supporting heroic mother of Vietnam, Tan Cau Port area in the South West, Cai Cui port, Thot Not Port are taking care of 13 Mothers of Vietnamese Heroes with the monthly allowance of VND1 million each.
In addition, Sai Gon New Port Corporation also ensures stable employment and income for more than 300 employees in Can Tho City; contributing to socio-economic development, ensuring social security in the localities where the unit stands.
