In Vietnam, Sao Mai PV1 is the first solar power project that this contractor undertakes.
Sao Mai PV1 is one of the largest solar power projects in Southeast Asia and the second clean energy project of Sao Mai Group. Nearly two years ago, Sao Mai Group successfully put into operation the 1.06 MW Sao Mai Solar Plant on the roof of the seafood processing plant No.1 - I.D.I Company with an investment of nearly US$2 million. After more than one year of use, Sao Mai Solar 1 has promoted the efficiency of electricity costs for I.D.I at least 20 per cent per year.
Based on that practical basis, Sao Mai Group is determined to build Sao Mai PV1 with the total generating capacity of 210 MW, and an investment capital of VND5,000 billion, divided into four phases from present to 2020. The amount of produced power is expected to be more than 302 million KWh/year. Once completed in the next 10 years, Sao Mai Solar Power Plant will have a total generating capacity of 2.5 billion KWh/year. Before that, in Hanoi, Sao Mai Group reached an agreement and entered into Contract for purchase and sales of electricity with Vietnam Electricity, National Load Dispatch Centre, the Power Trading Company and Southern Power Corporation.
Sterling & Wilson's timeline for construction of Sao Mai PV1 in phase 1 is nearly one year. The top contractor in India is committed to quality work and high aesthetics. This is a typical project of Sao Mai Group, a pride of Vietnam in clean energy, will generate many jobs, and create a critical breakthrough for the Southwest border economy.
