The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued Circular 03/2033/TT-BCT on temporary suspension of import for re-export of medical masks, gloves, and protective suits for COVID-19 disease prevention and control purposes from March 15 to December 31.

Circular 03 aims to early control and prevent potential risks of smuggling, commercial fraud and illegal trans-shipment of medical masks, gloves, and protective suits.
These items include:
Item code: 6307.90.40 and Item code 6307.90.90 (Item description: Medical mask);
Item code 6210.10.90 (Item description: The epidemic prevention outfit, including: clothing, eye protectors, medical masks, helmets, gloves, shoes).
Item code 3926.20.90, Item code 4015.11.00, Itemcode 4015.19.00 (Item description: Medical gloves).
Shipments of medical masks, gloves, and protective suits for disease prevention which have undergone customs procedures for temporary import from January 1, 2022 to before March 15, shall be subject to re-export in accordance with Decree 69/2018/ND-CP.
Since May 2020, Viet Nam has been able to monthly produce at least 200 million medical masks and gloves.
