Determined to Soon Restore Tourism Industry

Accommodation, travel and tourism service companies in Thai Nguyen province have actively united and supported each other to overcome recent difficulties to recover and contribute to local development.

Fostering the role of Thai Nguyen Tourism Association

By the end of 2021, the northern province of Thai Nguyen had 17 travel businesses (including nine international tour operators and eight domestic tour operators), 450 accommodation facilities with over 6,000 rooms, and over 100 large high-class restaurants. As the core and driving force for tourism development, they have made positive contributions to the tourism development of Thai Nguyen province.

Tourism firms have contributed to economic growth, created jobs and raised the living standards of local people. Some have actively invested in business operations, upgraded infrastructure, diversified tourism services, and developed new tourism products. They have actively protected the natural and social environment through tourism development; and coordinated with relevant agencies and localities to participate in nationwide promotion activities.

Thai Nguyen Tourism Association, established in 2011, has more than 100 members. In the past time, the Thai Nguyen Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has guided, advised and supported the association in expertise and professionalism; disseminated tourism development policies and orientations of the province to businesses; and facilitated them to quickly access information, develop tourism and build new products for customers.

To train and improve the quality of tourism human resources, the association has actively cooperated with the Thai Nguyen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize professional training courses for local tourism businesses. In general, the association has become a focal point for authorities and tourism enterprises to work and understand each other.

Mr. Do Trong Hiep, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Tourism Association, said that in 2021, the association collected opinions and proposed support measures to competent agencies to remove difficulties and support tourism businesses to maintain operations and advance when the COVID-19 pandemic is controlled. Preventive measures for visitors and employees have been implemented synchronously to create a safe and friendly tourism environment.

Recovery and growth

According to the newly issued plan on “Adopting measures to stimulate demand and restore tourism and travel in Thai Nguyen province”, in the coming time, tourism service companies in Thai Nguyen will develop and implement tourism programs, products and stimulus packages in the new context.

Besides, Thai Nguyen will continue to effectively carry out the project on Thai Nguyen tourism development in 2021 - 2025 and to 2030. Accordingly, the province will accelerate investment promotion in Nui Coc Lake Tourist Area, pay special attention to leisure, sporting, entertainment and MICE tourism; and focus on building community tourism and agricultural tourism associated with tea culture.

In addition to developing various types of cultural, spiritual and historical tourism, Thai Nguyen province will mobilize investment resources for tourism development to discover Phuong Hoang Cave - Mo Ga Stream; continue to survey, assess and count cave-based resources; engage people and investors; and integrate tourism development programs and projects.

Currently, Thai Nguyen is working out investor support policies to develop community tourism; actively attracting and encouraging organizations and individuals to invest in improving tourism product quality to better meet the needs of people and visitors according to the principles: Sustainable tourism development in line with the tourism development strategy, scheme and plan coupled with conservation and promotion of cultural heritages and natural resources.
