Showcasing potential, expanding opportunities

In his opening remarks at the conference, Phu Tho Provincial Party Deputy Secretary Bui Huy Vinh said that following the merger, the province has gained a larger development space, creating greater opportunities for growth and investment attraction. In the first quarter of 2026, total state budget revenue reached approximately VND15.9 trillion, up 25% year on year. Development investment capital increased by 11.6%, while the industrial and construction sector remained the main driver of growth, accounting for about 46.58% of GRDP.

In particular, according to the 2025 Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), Phu Tho ranked among the top five localities nationwide for economic governance quality. The province placed second in the “Access to Resources” index and was among the leading localities for proactive governance and business support policies. These results are viewed as positive indicators of the province’s efforts to improve the investment environment, strengthen competitiveness, and support businesses.

Priority sectors for investment attraction in Phu Tho during the 2026-2030 period include high-tech industries, electronics, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), precision engineering, new materials, and renewable energy. The province is also seeking investment in multimodal logistics infrastructure, free trade zones (FTZs), resort and sports tourism, and international-standard golf course projects.

Doan Thanh Song, Ambassador of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Spain, highlighted Phu Tho’s development potential, particularly its strategic location and transport connectivity. Following the merger, the province has become not only a key center of the Northern Midland and Mountainous region but also an important hub along transport routes linking Hanoi with the Northwest and the economic corridor connecting to Southwest China, creating favorable conditions for industrial, logistics, and service development.
