Construction Steel Prices Rise
Domestic steelmakers have raised steel prices by VND100,000 per ton due to an increase in prices of ingot imports and transport costs.
Currently, Ø 6 rolled steel is standing at VND9,580/kg, Ø 8 VND9,550 /kg, Ø 10 VND71,000/bar, Ø 12 VND100,000/bar, Ø 14 VND135,000 /bar, Ø 16 VND177,000/bar and Ø 18 VND224,000/bar.
“Steel ingot price has increased by US$30 a ton in the world market and transport fees have also gone up, so we must raise prices of our products,” said Vietnamese steel producers.
Steel prices would have been increased by VND400,000/ton but the slight adjustment this time is aimed at market stabilization, they said, implying new hikes in the near future. (Laborer, Economy & Urban)
