ACB Reports US$66Mln Pretax Profit in Jan-August
Ho Chi Minh City-based Asia Commercial Bank (ACB), a largest commercial joint stock bank in Vietnam, said that it earned a pretax profit of VND1.057 trillion (US$66 million) in the first eight months of this year.
The figure has accomplished 70.5 per cent of the set target of VND1.5 trillion for the whole this year, up 60.5 per cent from that of 2006.
ACB also reported a good performance with total assets of more than VND64.5 trillion (US$4 billion), total deposit of VND58.4 trillion and outstanding loans of VND24.1 trillion as of late Aug.
These figures stood at VND62.5 trillion, VND56.35 trillion and VND23.54 trillion, respectively one month ago.
ACB is now the biggest stock on the Hanoi bourse by market capitalization of VND29.7 billion (US$1.9 million), and the registered capital of VND2.53 trillion (US$158 million), followed by Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Bank (Sacombank) with VND2.34 trillion.
So far, the bank has expanded its network to 89 branches and offices cross Vietnam and create jobs for more than 3,500 employees. (Vietnam Economic Times)
