Residential Leasing, Demand Outstrips Supply

According to CB Richard Ellis, the residential leasing market in Vietnam receives little attention, although demand has been increasing from employees of multinationals moving into Vietnam.
In addition, the number of expatriates coming to Vietnam, primarily in HCM City and Hanoi, for long term work continues to increase while most serviced apartments are now fully occupied. Official figure shows the estimated expatriate population of HCM City is over 50,000 people, and it is expected to increase by 25 to 35 percent in 2008. There is an obvious need for more residential units to be developed. This will open the market for institutional developers and individual investors alike.
