Saigon Invest Group to Invest US$125 Mln in Central Vietnam
The Saigon-Hue Investment Joint Stock Company has recently received an investment license from central Thua Thien-Hue province to invest VND2 trillion (US$126 million) in two projects in Chan May-Lang Co Zone.
The company will carry out two projects of 1,000 hectares with the focus on building infrastructure for the industrial and urban areas and the Saigon-Chan May tariff-free zone.
Construction on both projects is scheduled to start in this June and to be completed by 2011.
According to Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Thien, the EZ has licensed six projects in tourism and services sector, since early this year.
The largest project a US$312.5-million project by Lap An Investment and Development Company, a joint venture between Gia Minh Conic Company and Lap An Development Company of Denmark.
Located some 70 km from the provincial capital Hue, the 27,000 hectare Chan May-Lang Co EZ encompasses Lang Co township and three other surrounding villages, which will be developed into a regional economic and trade center. The zone will have a tax-free area of over 960 hectares. (Young People, Labor)
