Basic VND Interest Rates Kept Unchanged for May
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), the country's central bank, announced it will maintain basic VND interest rates for May as same as those set for the previous month, state media reported, citing SBV source.
Accordingly, the basic interest rate is 8.75 per cent per annum. The rediscount rate for credit institutions is 7.50 per cent per annum, and their discount rate is 6.0 per cent per annum.
It is the fourth consecutive month SBV has kept the rates unchanged though the market interest rates have seen strong fluctuations recently. (www.vietstock.com.vn)
