Central Highlands Provinces Seeking US$1.87 Bln Investments
The Central Highlands province of Lam Dong is calling on investors for 24 key projects totaling US$1.87 billion, said the vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Tran Quang Thai.
The projects include 14 in the areas of trade, tourism and service industries; eight in industrial production and construction and the remaining two in the agriculture sector, he said.
The largest project is entertainment complex called Dan Kia-Da Lat Tourism Resort worth US$1 billion in Lac Duong district.
Following are the US$12.5 million Da Lat Flower Trading Floor and the US$9.4 million Bao Loc Sport Complex in the town of Bao Loc.
The province is also seeking investors to develop its industrial parks, commercial and residential areas, hydro-electric development and vegetable and flower production.
Lam Dong, 308 km from Ho Chi Minh City, has great potentials for tourism development with a convenient climate, together with splendid landscapes and cultural resources.
The number of visitors to the province is estimated to reach 700.000-800.000 per year, including 10 per cent foreigners. Hotels and guest houses see a capacity of 20.000 visitors per day.
The province is seen as one of biggest fruit and vegetable growing provinces in Vietnam. Farm produce exports contribute up to 80 per cent of the province’s annual export revenues. (VNS)
