Vietnam to Invest VND820 Bln in Forestation Project in 2008
Vietnam will invest around VND820 billion to carry out national project growing five million hectares of forest in 2008, Deputy Minister of the Agriculture and Rural Development Hua Duc Nhi said.
The country will grow an additional 210,000 hectares of forest, protect more than 2.33 million hectares, and regenerate 643,010 hectares this year.
In the first eight months of this year, localities in Vietnam planed an additional 107,400 hectares of forest, including 23,500 hectares of protective and 83,900 hectares of production forests.
The localities also protected 2.3 million hectares of protective forest while regenerating nearly 650,000 hectares.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung instructed to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to set up specific and effective plan in order to fulfill the project in 2010. (www.chinhphu.vn)
