Vietnamese Industrial Parks Pull in US$9 Bln FDI in Jan-August
Vietnam’s industrial parks (IP) reported pledged US$9 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first eight months of this year.
Of the sum, US$7.46 billion came from 254 newly-licensed projects and the rest were from capital rise of 222 existing projects.
To date, the parks in the country licensed 3,318 FDI projects totaling $38.9 billion.
The country is now home to more than 150 IPs and export processing zones and eight economic zones, which are said to generate thousands of new jobs for laborers nationwide each year.
The IP occupancy rate is estimated at some 50 per cent and the rate is at 74 per cent at operational industrial parks. (Investment)
